  • \boxed{\bf{x = 1, y = 2}}

ᴇxᴘʟᴀɪɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴ

 \to (x+2y)+(2x-3y)i +4i = 5

 \to (x+2y)+(2x-3y)i = 5-4i

Two complex numbers are equal when their real parts and imaginary parts are equal, so

 \to x+2y =5,\:2x-3y = -4... (1)

 \to x =5-2y,\:2x-3y = -4

 \to 2(5-2y)-3y = -4

 \to 10-4y-3y = -4

 \to 10+4 = 4y+3y

 \to 7y = 14

 \to \bf{y = 2}

Substituting value of y in first equation of (1)

 \to x+2\times 2 =5

 \to x+4 =5

 \to \bf{x = 1}
