We know that,

discriminant (d) =b²-4ac

so,

here , in the equation,

a =1

b=-2

c = -3

so ,

d =b² -4ac

d =  {( - 2)}^{2}  - 4 \times 1 \times ( - 3) \\ 4 - 4 \times  ( - 3) \\ 4 - ( - 12) \\ 4 + 12 \\ d =  > 16

So, the value of

discriminant is 16.
