IF THE EXPRESSION IS DIVISIBLE BY(x-1)

THEN,

f(x)=(the exp)

f(1)=3(1)sq+a(1)-7

=3+a-7

=-4+a                            //should be equal to 0

THEREFORE,

=-4+4                           //substitute a=4

=0

hence the value of a is 4 only IF THE EXPRESSION IS DIVISIBLE BY(x-1)
