In the given question, the length of the ladder can be considered as hypotenuse and distance between ladder and wall as base of triangle and height of wall as perpendicular.

Length of the ladder (H) = 10m

Distance between ladder and wall (B) = 5m

Height of wall (P) = h

By hypotenuse theorm :-

(H)² = (P)²+(B)²

On putting the values :-

10² = h²+5²

By taking 5² on the other side :-

10²-5² = h²

100-25 = h²

75 = h²

√75 = h

8.66 m = h

Height of the wall = 8.66 m (approx.)

(Important Note : The answer has been found in approximation upto only 2 decimal places not more which is valid for the exams)
