k is 0 as if x-1 is factor then 1 is a zero of the given polynomial..so substitute 1 in place of x and equate the polynomial to zero..

3+2-5+k=0

5-5+k=0

0+k=0

So k=0

Answer:

k = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

x-1= 0

x= 1

Now putting the value of x in the equation:-

3x³+ 2x²- 5x + k = 0

3(1)³+ 2(1)²- 5(1) + k = 0

3 + 2 - 5 + k = 0

+5 -5 + k = 0

0 + k = 0

k = 0

Hence, the value of k is 0
