Here,

Two equations are given,

2x + 4y + 9 = 0.

Kx + 3y - 8 = 0

Let's compare the given equation with

a1x + b1y + c1 = 0 and a2x + b2y + c2 = 0

Now,

These two pair of linear equations are forming parallel lines

Therefore,

a1/a2 = b1/b2 ≠ c1/c2

Subsitute the given values ,

2/k = 4/3 ≠ 9/(-8)

By cross multiply,

2 * 4 = 3 * k

8 = 3k

k = 8/3

Hence, The value of K is 8/3 .
