Let , f(x) = kx²+2x-3

Since , 2 is a solution of the equation .

=> f(2) = 0

=> k(2)² + 2(2) - 3 = 0

=> 4k + 4 - 3 = 0

=> 4k + 1 = 0

=> 4k = -1

=> k = -¼ .......
