So

p(4) = 2 ({4}^{3} ) - 3 ({4}^{2} ) - 18(4) + k \\  \\ =  2 \times 64 - 3 \times 16 - 72  + k = 0 \\  \\ 128 - 48 - 72 + k \\  \\ 128 - 120  + k = 0 \\  \\ 8 + k = 0 \\   \\  \\ k =  - 8
