Question

Find the value of k if 8k+4, 6k-2, 2k-7 are three consecutive terms of an AP.

Solution

now as the terms 8k+4,6k-2,2k-7 are in ap series so there differences will be same

..

(6k-2)-(8k+4)=(2k-7)-(6k-2)

=>-2k-6=-4k-5

=>2k=1

=>k=1/2

hope this helps you
