so x=1 is the zero of given polynomial.
p(1)=0,then k-3+k=0
2k=3
k=3/2

p(x) = kx - 3x + k

when,
x-1 = 0
x = 1

p(1) = k×1 - 3×1 + k
0 = 2k - 3
3 = 2k
k = 1.5

Hope it helps!!
