p(x) = kx²-3x+k

g(x) = x-1

let g(x) = 0

⇒x-1 = 0

⇒x = 1

Given, p(1) = 0

⇒k(1)²-3×1+k = 0

⇒k-3+k = 0

⇒2k = 3

⇒k = 3/2

Answer:

k = 3/2

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that x-1 is a factor of k x ^ 2 - 3 x + k

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

put it in the p(x) = k x ^ 2 - 3 x + k = 0

p(1) = k ( 1 ) ^ 2 - 3 ( 1 ) + k = 0

k + k - 3 = 0

2 k = 3

k = 3/2
