Answer:

if x+1 is facter then x = -1

put -1 on x

x^2-x+k=0

-1^2+(-1)+k=0

1-1+k=0

0+k=0

k=0

Answer:

Let q(x) be x+1 and p(x) be x^{2} -x+k

q(x) = x+1 = 0

      = x = -1

It's given that q(x) is a factor of p(x) so the remainder will be 0

So,

p(x) => x^{2} -x+k = 0

p(-1) => -1^{2} -(-1)+k = 0

       => 1 + 1 + k = 0

       => 2 + k = 0

        => k = -2

Hope it helps you !!
