Given:

x -1 is a zero of the polynomial p(x) =kx²-4x+k

TO find:

The value of the k

Solution:

We have given the polynomial as:

p(x) =kx²-4x+k

And

x -1 is a zero of the polynomial which means x = 1 is the value of the x at which the value of p(x) should be equal to 0

Now putting the value of x as 1 in the given  polynomial we get:

p(x) =kx²-4x+k

0 =k×1²-4×1+k

k+k = 4

2k = 4

k = 4/2

k = 2

So, The value of the k is 2
