Given, (x - 7) is factor of the above equation

p(x) = k {x}^{2}  -  \sqrt{2} x + 1

then, x - 7 = 0

=> x = 7

Putting, x = 7 in given equation, we get

p(7) = >  k ({7})^{2}  -  \sqrt{2} (7) + 1 = 0

 =>  49k - 7 \sqrt{2}  + 1 = 0

 => 49k = 7 \sqrt{2}  - 1

 => k  =  \frac{7 \sqrt{2}  - 1}{49}

Hope its helpful for you.
