x^{2} +k x-5/4 = 0
(1/2)^{2} + k(1/2) - 5/4=0
1/4 + k/2 - 5/4 = 0
1/4 - 5/4 + k/2 = 0
-4/4 + k/2 = 0
-1 + k/2 = 0
k/2 = 1
k = 2
