Find the value of k, x+2y=-7, 2x+ky=-14

Answer:

x + 2y = -7

2x + ky = -14

multiply eq - 1 by 2,

2x + 4y = -14 ------ 1

2x + ky = -14 ------ 2

Substract eq 2 from 1,

we get,

4y - ky = 0

y(4 - k) = 0

4 - k = 0

k = 4
