or, 10p – 6 = 9p

or, 10p – 6 – 9p = 9p – 9p

[Subtract 9p from both the sides]

or, p – 6 = 0

or, p - 6 + 6 = 6

[Add 6 to both the sides]

Therefore, p = 6.
