seca - tana \\ \frac{1 - sina}{cosa} \\ \frac{(cosa - sina)(cosa - sina)}{(cosa - sina)(cosa + sina)} \\ = \frac{(cosa - sina)}{(cosa + sina)} \\ = \frac{1 - tana}{1 + tana} \\ = tan( \frac{\pi}{4} - a)sec^{2}a-tan^{2}a=1\\ (seca+tana)(seca-tana)=1<br />\\p(seca-tana)=1\\(seca-tana)=\frac {1}{p}a^{2}-b^{2}=(a-b)(a+b)
hope it helps.

ruhi1224: it is given that sina+tana=p then why you solve question by this method??
brunoconti: i gave him exactly the same solution as you. he just deleted it.
