Given :   tan x = 3/4

To Find : value of  (sinx + cosx)/(sinx - cosx)

Solution:

sinx/cosx = tanx

(sinx + cosx)/(sinx - cosx)

Divide numerator and denominator by cosx

=  (sinx/cos + cosx/cos)/(sinx/cosx - cosx/cosx)

= (tanx + 1)/(tanx - 1)

Substitute tanx = 3/4

= (3/4 + 1)/(3/4 - 1)

multiplying numerator and denominator by 4

= ( 3 + 4)/(3 - 4)

= 7/(-1)

= -7

value of  (sinx + cosx)/(sinx - cosx) = -7
