Hey mate ,
Consider a right angled ΔABC with sides AB = BC = a
and , ∠A = ∠C = 45° , ∠B = 90°
In ΔABC using Pythagoras Theorem we have ,
AC² = AB² + BC²
⇒ AC² = a² + a²
⇒ AC² = 2a²
⇒ AC = a√2
In right angled ΔABC ,
sin 45° = perpendicular / Hypotenuse
= AB / AC
= a / √2a
= 1 / √2
