Find the value of the expression 2m2 + 30m + 40 when m = 3 and m = −2

a = 2 , b= 30 c= 40

D = b²- 4ac

= (30)² - 4(2)(40)

= 900 - 320

D = 580

m = -b + √D / 2a , m = -b - √D / 2a

m = -30 + √580 / 2(2) , -30 - √580 / 2(2)

m = -30 + √4×145 / 4 , -30 - √4×145 / 4

m = -30+2√145/4 , m = -30-2√145/4
