To Find :-

Value of the polynomial 5x - 4x² + 3

Solution :-

5x - 4x² + 3 .......[1]

___________[Put value of x in equation 1]

» 5(-1) - 4(-1)² + 3

» -5 - 4(1) + 3

» -5 - 4 + 3

» -9 + 3

» -6

Value of 5x - 4x² + 3 is -6 when x is -1.

Verification :-

5x - 4x² + 3 = -6

Put value of x .

» 5(-1) - 4(-1)² + 3 = -6

» -5 - 4(1) + 3 = -6

» -5 - 4 + 3 = -6

» -9 + 3 = -6

» -6 = -6
