use the formular a^3+b^3=(a+b)(a^2-ab+b^2)

then x^3 +1/x^3= (x+1/x)(x^2-x.1/x+1/X^2)

=(x+1/x)(x^2-1+1/x^2)

=(x+1/x)(x^2+2+1/x^2-3)

for this part, since (a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2

then we need (x^2+2.x.1/x+1/x^2) which is (x^2+2+1/x^2) to form (x+1/x)^2

we need to minus 2 back so that the whole thing is balanced

=(x+1/x)((x+1/x)^2-3)

hence (x+1/x)^3-3(x+1/x)=110

now let (x+1/x)=a

a^3-3a-110=0

use calulator

a=5

the other 2 answer are complex number which i think it is not needed here.

Have a nice day mate :U
