Find the value of the variable

-7x-x=-6

Hi there !!

Given,

to find the value of x

 - 7x - x =  - 6
Adding -7x and -x, we have,

 - 8x =  - 6
Cancelling the negative signs,
we have,

8x = 6

x =  \frac{6}{8}

Reducing the answer to it's simpliest form,
we have,

x =  \frac{2 \times 3}{2 \times 4} =  \frac{3}{4}

Thus,

x =  \frac{3}{4}

-7x - x= -6
=-7x + (-x)= -6 = -8x = -6
x=-8 / -6= 3/4
