Answer:

(1/2)^ x/2=1/4

now we can write 1/4 as (1/2)^2

so:-

(1/2)^x/2=(1/2)^2

cancel 1/2 from both sides

now:-

x/2=2

x=4

( \frac{1}{2} ) {}^{ \frac{x}{2} }  =  \frac{1}{4}  \\  \\  =  > ( \frac{1}{2} ) {}^{ \frac{x}{2} } = ( \frac{1}{2} ) {}^{2}  \\  \\  =  >  \frac{x}{2}  = 2 \\  \\  =  > x = 2 \times 2  = 4\\  \\  =  > x = 4
