Answer:

By the given,( since ,it is in parallel combination)

 \frac{1}{10 + x} + \frac{1}{25 + 75} = \frac{1}{20} \\ \frac{1}{10 + x} = \frac{ 1 }{20} - \frac{1}{100} \\ \frac{1}{10 + x} = \frac{1}{25} \\ 25 = 10 + x \\ x = 15 \: ohm

So value of x is 15 ohm....

Hope it helps you....

Answer:

15 ohms

Step-by-step explanation:

Resistors of resistance 10 and x are in series.

so-

10+x ohms

Resistors of resistance 25 and 75 are in series.

so-

25+75=100 ohms

now as 10+x ohms and 100 ohms resistance are in parallel combination:

 \frac{1}{20} = \frac{1}{10 + x} + \frac{1}{100} \\ \frac{1}{20} = \frac{100 + 10 + x}{1000 + 100x} \\ 1000 + 100x = 20(110 + x) \\ 100x - 20x = 2200 - 1000 \\ 80x = 1200 \\ x = 15 \: ohms
