angle ABC = angle EFG(corresponding angles ) (given)

40°=y

Let's take triangle DEC

We have

Angle DCE =85° (vertically opposite angles)

angle CDE =40° (Alternate interior angles...)

By angle sum

85+40 + angle DEC =180

Angle DEC =180-125

Angle DEC = 55°

angle DEC = angle GEF (vertically opposite angles)

55°=angle GEF

By Exterior angle Theorem...

We know that exterior angle is equal to the sum of its two interior opposite angle...

55+40 =x

95°=x

Therefore x is equal to 95 while y is equal to 40....

From this above figure

angleB=angleF (corresponding angles)

So, y=40

angleG=x + angleC

angleG=x+85

WKT.,,

x+85=180(linear)

x =180 - 85

x=95
