 i ) From \: Figure . 14.22

 \triangle ABC \sim \triangle PQR

 \angle B = \angle Q = 70 \degree

 \blue { ( Corresponding \:angles \:are \: equal )}

 \implies x = \angle B = 70\degree

 \angle C = \angle R = 50 \degree

 \implies y = \angle R = 50 \degree

 ii) From \: Figure . 14.23

 \triangle ABC \sim \triangle PQR

 \frac{BC}{QR} = \frac{CA}{PQ}

 \blue { Corresponding \:sides \:are \: proportional )}

 \implies \frac{x}{4} = \frac{3}{6}

 \implies x = \frac{4 \times 3}{6}

 \implies x = 2 \: cm
