Answer:

x 4 1

y 1 3

Given that,

2x+3y=11

2+3y=11

3y=11−2

3y=9

y=

3

9

=3

∴y=3

2x+3y=11

2x=11−3y

x=

2

11−3y

Hope it helped you!

\sf\huge {\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

x+y = 5------(1)

2x +3y= 11----(2)

By substitution method:

From Equation 1

we get x = 5-y---(3)

Now,put Equation 3 into Equation 2

=> 2(5-y)+3y=11

=>10-2y+3y=11

=> y+10=11

=> y= 1

Put y's value into equation 3

=> x= 5-y

=>x= 5-1=4

x=4

Check

=> x+y=5

LHS = 4+1=5

Since,LHS = RHS

Alternative Method

By elimination method

=> x+y= 5-------× 2

=>2x+3y=11-----×1

New Equation obtained

=> 2x+2y=10

=> 2x+3y=11

=> (-)(-)= (-)

_________

-3y+2y= -11+10

-y= -1

y=1

=> x+y=5

=>x+1=5

x=4
