Given,

 {x}^{2} + \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } = 98

( {x + \frac{1}{x} })^{2} \\ = > {x}^{2} + \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } + 2 = 98 + 2

 = > (x + \frac{1}{x}) {}^{2} = 100

 = >x + \frac{1}{x} = 10

(x + \frac{1}{x}) {}^{3} = {10}^{3}

 = > {x}^{3} + \frac{1}{ {x}^{3} } + 3(x \times \frac{1}{x} )(x + y) = 1000

 {x}^{3} + \frac{1}{ {x}^{3} } + 30 = 1000

 = > {x}^{3} + \frac{1}{ {x}^{3} } = 1000 - 30 = 970
