2x - y =  \frac{ \frac{3}{4} x}{6}  \\  \\ 2x - y =  \frac{3}{4} x \times  \frac{1}{6}  \\  \\ 2x - y =  \frac{x}{8}  \\  \\ by \: \:  cross \:  \: multiplying \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  \\ 8(2x - y) = x \\  \\ 16x - 8y = x \\  \\ 16x - x = 8y \\  \\ 15x = 8y \\  \\ x =  \frac{8y}{15}
