X - Y = 2

TO FIND - Solution of this equation

SOLUTION -

Solving by substitution method

x + y= 14 ------ 1

x- y = 2 -------- 2

x= 2 + y ------3

Substitute the value of x in eq. 1

2+ y+ y= 14

2 + 2y = 14

2y = 14 - 2

2y = 12

y= 12/2

y= 6

Putting the value of y in eq. 3

x= y + 2

x= 6 + 2

x= 8

Hence , value of x = 8 , y = 6
