so here no. of terms =3 that 1st term= 4 , 2nd term = x and third term = 5

now we have been given that mean = 4

so  (4+x+5)/3 = 4

so (9+x)/3=4

= 9/3+x/3 = 4

=3+x/3 = 4

=x/3=4-3

=x/3=1

= x=3
