Answer:

2^x+5=4^x-1

(a^b)^c=a^bc

2^x+5=2^{2x}-1

2^x+5=((2^x)^2)-1

Rewrite the equation with 2^x=u

u+5=(u^2)-1

u=3 or u= -2(reject)

x=3/2
