Given,

With reference to the attached figure 1,

∠CGB = 62°

So,

∠AGH = 62° (vertically opposite angles).

According to the concept of corresponding angles,

∠EHD = 62° (corresponding angles).

Therefore,

\implies x = 62°

We need to discuss about the different types of angles :-

✯★Corresponding Angles :- When two lines are crossed by another line (which is called the Transversal), the angles in matching corners are called corresponding angles.(Corresponding angles are shown in Figure 2)

✯★Vertically Opposite Angles :- The two angles opposite each other when two lines cross are called vertically opposite angles. They are always equal. In the figure 3, a° and b° are vertically opposite angles, where, a=b.

✯★Alternate Angles :- These are the angles that are in opposite positions relative to a transversal intersecting the two lines. They are also equal. (Alternate Angles are shown in figure 4).

Again we have two classification here,

  • Alternate interior angles :- These angles are located between two intersected lines , and are on opposite side of the Transversal. (see figure 3).
  • Alternate Exterior Angles :- These angles are located outside the two intersected lines , on the opposite side of the Transversal. (See figure 4)
