if x = 3+√3
then , 1/3+√3 ( by rationalisation )
then , (x+1/x) ^2 = x^2 + (1/x)^2 + 2x(1/x)
that is , (3+√3+3-√3)^2 = x^2 +(1/x)^2 + 3
9^2 -3=x^2 + (1/x)^2
81-3=x^2 + (1/x)^2
78 =x^2 + (1/x) ^2
