7x-2= 4x+16( alternate interior angles of parallel lines are equal).
7x-4x=16+2
3x = 18.
x= 6...

vrutant4: 7x-2 =4x +16 (alternate interior angles)
Kartha: yup

HEYA MATE, HERE IS UR ANSWER

<b><i>We know when two lines are parallel, Alternate interior angles are equal .

So , we can find the value of x such that two lines are parallel by equalising both the angles.

So ,Here we go....

7x-2=4x+16

Taking like terms on 1 side

7x-4x=16+2

3x=18

x=\frac {18}{3}

x=6 .

So the angle becomes

7x-2

=7×6-2

=42-2

=40

4x+16

= 4×6+16

= 24+16

= 40

Both the angles are coming equal .Hence our answer is verified.

Hence the value of x = 6 for which the lines are parallel.
