4x + 3y = 25 \\  \\ 3x + 4y = 24 \\  \\  \text{ To find the value of (x-y),}  \\ \text{ simply subtract equation 2 from equation 1.} \\  \\ 4x + 3y  - (3x + 4y) = 25 - 24 \\  \\ 4x - 3x + 3y - 4y = 25 - 24 \\  \\ x - y = 1
