SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The value of x, y, z from the following.

x [ y + (4) ] = [(5) x (-7)] + [5 x z]

EVALUATION

Here the given expression is

x [ y + (4) ] = [(5) x (-7)] + [5 x z] - - - (1)

We now simplify RHS using distributive law

[(5) x (-7)] + [5 x z]

= 5 × ( - 7 + z )

Now Expression 1 gives

x [ y + (4) ] = 5 × ( - 7 + z )

Comparing both sides we get

x = 5 , y = - 7 , z = 4

FINAL ANSWER

x = 5 , y = - 7 , z = 4
