Answer:

70° is exterior angle

so in the straight line, it will be (180-70)°=110°

So X° will also be 110° (opposite interior angles are equal)

Now, sum of adjacent angles=180°

i.e,

x°+40°+z=180°

110+40+z=180°

z=180°-150°

z=30°

Now, in ∆, z+y+110°=180°

or , 30°+y+110°=180°

or, y=180°-140°

or, y=40°
