Hello Friend,

Here we are given:

x² + y² = 5
xy = 5

Now,

• x⁴ + y⁴
= (x²)² + (y²)² + 2x²y² - 2x²y²
= (x² + y²)² - 2(xy)²
= 5² - 2×5²
= 25 - 50
= -25

• (x² - y²)²
= x⁴ + y⁴ - 2x²y²
= x⁴ + y⁴ + 2x²y² - 4x²y²
= (x² + y²)² - 4x²y²
= 5² - 4×5²
= 25 - 100
= -75

Hope it helps.
