if 2x-1 is factor then x= 1/2

putting in eq.

12*1/2 + k/2 -2. = 0

6+k/2. =2

k/2. = -4

k= -8

X = 1/2

p(x) = 6x²+kx-2

0 = 6 × (1/2)² + k (1/2) - 2

0 = (6/4)+1/2k-2

0 = -0.5 + 1/2 k

-1/2k = -0.5 - 0

k = -0.5/-1/2

k = -0.5×2/-1

k = -1/-1

k = 1
