find the valueof k , if x-1 is a factor of p(x)=kx*kx-3x+k

Answer:

Since (x - 1 ) is the factor of given p(x) i.e. it makes p(x) zero.

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

Now placing the value of x in p(x) -

kx * kx - 3x + k = 0

k(1) * k(1) - 3(1) + k = 0

k*k - 3 + k = 0

k² = 3 - k

k = √3-k

so, the required value of k is √3 -k
