Answer:

(√3-1)/(√3+1)=a+b√3

LHS,

Rationalising the term, we get

(√3-1)/(√3+1) * (√3-1)/(√3-1)

(√3-1)²/√3²-1²

3+1-2√3/3-1

4-2√3/2

2-√3

On comparing the values with a+b√3, we get

a=2 and b= -1
