Answer:

p is -4

q is 2

Step-by-step explanation:

since x+1 and x-1 are the factors of the polynomial,

then,

x=1, x= -1 are the solution of the polynomial

Answer:

hope you like it

Step-by-step explanation:

values of x

x+1=0 x-1=0

x=-1 x=1

when x=-1

x^4+px^3+3x^2-2x+q=0

(-1)^4+p(-1)^3+3(-1)^2-2(-1)+q=0

1-p+3+2+q=0

p-q=6.......(1)

when x=1

x^4+px^3+3x^2-2x+q=0

(1)^4+p(1)^3+3(1)^2-2(1)+q=0

1+p+3-2+q=0

p+q=-2.......(2)

by eliminating equations (1) and (2)

p=2

by putting value of p in equation (2)

q=-4

hence value of p=2 and q=-4
