The caste system is a sort of ladder when one caste is superior to the other. The 'Dalits' are on the bottom of the ladder. They are supposed to be unworthy and are considered untouchables. They if touch a person of the upper caste the person who is touched is considered to be contaminated and they had to take a bath.

untouchables were seen as anniversary they were excluded by other caste people they could not even use the public facilities they were not allowed to enter the home of upper caste or even and the temples the caste system was based on the nature of work people were involved in different kinds of work for their livelihood .Of them certain activities like clean washing taking garbage removing dead animals from the village ect.
