x=y as equal opp. sides are equal
so In triangle
70+X+Y=180 (A.S.P)
70+2X=180
2X=110
X=110/2
55

as according to isosceles triangle rule if 2 sides are equal then the angle opposite to it would also be equal, then
x+y+70=180
2x+70=180(x+y=2x,assuming)
2x=180-70
2x=110
x=55
so.therefore x=y=55
