Given, to find the vapour density of SO3(sulphur trioxide).....

We know that,

Molecular mass = 2 × Vapour density....

Therefore,

Vapour density = 1/2 × Molecular mass...

Molecular mass of SO3 is.,

Atomic mass of S(sulphur) = 32...
Atomic mass of O3(oxygen) = 3(16) = 48...

Molecular mass of SO3 = 32+48... = 80...

Therefore, molecular mass of SO3 = 80...

We known that, V.D. = M.M/2...

V.D. of SO3 = 80/2...
V.D. of SO3 = 40...

Therefore Vapour density of SO3 is 40..
