K. E = 1/2m v^2

20 = 1/2 0.1 v^2

20 = 0.05v^2
v^2 = 20/0.05
v^2 = 400
v= 20 m/s

Given:

  • Mass of object = 0.1 kg
  • Kinetic Energy = 20 Joules

To find:

  • Velocity of body ?

Calculation:

  • Kinetic Energy is a type of mechanical energy possessed by an object by the virtue of its movement.

Mathematical Equation for kinetic energy is :

 \boxed{KE =  \dfrac{1}{2} \times  m \times  {v}^{2} }

  • Putting necessary values in SI UNITS:

 \implies 20 =  \dfrac{1}{2} \times  0.1\times  {v}^{2}

 \implies   {v}^{2}  =  \dfrac{40}{0.1}

 \implies   {v}^{2}  =  400

 \implies  v =   \sqrt{400}

 \implies  v =  20 \: m {s}^{ - 1}

So, velocity of the body is 20 m/s.
