The Zero Waste model stresses on reusing the resources so that as to decrease the wastage and decrease pollution to protect the environment. At domestic level, many steps can be taken to implement the Zero Waste method.

1. Reuse glass bottles instead of disposing them. 

2. Using vegetable and fruit peels as manure for plants. 

3. Using reusable glass bottles for delivering milk instead of plastic packets or cartons. 

4. Solar energy used for lighting and for heating purposes using sunlight.

5. Mineral wastes be used as landfills which decompose into manure.

Zero Garbage System at domestic level, is to reuse resources within the household. It can be implemented by:  

(i) Reusing plastic; such as bottles, bags, containers etc.  

(ii) Reduce use of plastic. For example, use glass bottles instead of plastic ones.  

(iii) Use natural resources instead of unnatural resources, for example using sunlight instead of electricity for light.  

(iv) Use forms of paper inside the household, like making use of cardboard.
